Influence of English "z" in Spanish pronunciation

PeggyPatterson | 28 March, 2008 14:22

This week I am talking about the influence of the English "z" in Spanish pronunciation. I am going to be referring to the pronunciation of the "z" in Latin American Spanish only which sounds like the "s". Remember that in most parts of Spain the "z" is pronounced as a theta [θ] and not /s/. I am going to talk about voiced and voiceless sibilants in this podcast in order to make learners of Spanish aware of the difference in the pronunciation of "z" in Spanish and English. So click below to listen to my podcast. :-)
