How to create a quick podcast with Wimba.
- Go to LRC Blog. (http://syllable.rice.edu/LangEx_07_08/BLOGS/)
- Log
in. Click on the blog
name. If you are signed up
for multiple blogs, then choose the blog where you want to post this
podcasting.

- Click
on the ÒResource CenterÓ link from the top menu.

- Click
on ÒNew ResourceÓ link.

- Click
Use Wimba to record. A pop up
window will come up with Wimba recorder. Please be patient, this may take a while. When you get prompted with JAVA
make sure to accept/click RUN/click YES/click TRUST.

- Once
Wimba applet is loaded, click on the record button to record.

- The
pause button will pause your recording and the stop button will stop your
recording.
- Once
you stop the recording you can listen to your recording by using play
button.
- Use
ÒSave AsÓ feature under the time codes, to save your recording in mp3
format.

- Give
this file a unique name like ÒAssignmentName_YourUserName.mp3Ó. If you are doing this in LRC, make
sure to save it in the temp directory, not on the desktop.

- Once
saved, close the Wimba pop up window.
- Back
in New Resources page, click on the browse button and select the recording
you just made.

- Give a
description of your recording.
- Choose
the album with your name attached. .
If your folder does not exist, create a new folder with your name.
(use New Album tab)
- Click
Add button.
- Now
your recording is saved in the resources album.
- Click
Manage from the top menu.

- Click
New Post.
- State
topic
- Type
some text.
- While
the cursor is in the text area, click on Insert Resources button.

- Locate
the resource you would like to add.

- Click
on Add Resource button to add it to your blog.
- Click
on Blog This to publish.
